  • Responsibilities: The responsibilities of a 2nd Lieutenant are not significant due to the fact that it is the lowest of the ranking officers. 2nd Lieutenants lead a platoon size group of around 30-35 men.
  • Unit History: The 555th Bomb Squadron was one of the original 4 squadrons in the 386th Bomb Unit. The squadron was activated out of MacDill FL, and after training with the B-26, left for the European theater in early May 1943. This squadron has since been changed into the 555th fighter squadron.

  • Date of Death: June 12, 1944
